Finally, I don't have to keep it a secret any longer!
I've been working with the coolest yarn these last couple of months.
This beautiful yarn is made in Italy and sold exclusively at Knit Purl. It is a cotton cord wrapped with a thin thread of gorgeous Mulberry silk and it creates a unique fabric with a beautiful drape. It feels so cool and it is so addictive, that I was disappointed when my top was finished. Luckily I had more yarn, so jumped to design another piece right away, but I'll keep it a little secret for a little while.
Look at those gorgeous and vibrant colors! They have very cool names, because they were named after wildlife and nature objects, that could be found on Hayden island, one of Portland's neighborhood. That neighborhood is the namesake of the yarn.
is a simple, yet gorgeous top, that I've designed for Knit Purl.
It is sold as a kit with the Hayden yarn, and maybe bought here.
This top is knitted sideways and shaping is achieved by beautifully placed increases and decreases.
The bust measurements XS=46”, S=48”, M=50”, L=52”
Length measurements are XS, S and M=24.75”, L=26”
The following is what Knit Purl had said about this design:
A simple and elegant wardrobe essential, this great little summer sweater is a must-touch, must-knit favorite.
Designed by Lidia Tsymbal, Stark showcases the exclusive Knit Purl yarn, Hayden--named after Portland’s nautical neighborhood.
With its sturdy yet elegant cotton core and a luxurious silk wrap, Hayden creates an airy, textured fabric with an incredible drape.
The pattern is knit from side to side, with simple intarsia techniques to create the two-tone colorblock. The shaping and finishing techniques used in Stark give the shoulders unique, nearly invisible shaping and work in perfect harmony with the texture of Hayden.
